Hardly anything is said about the speed at which new technology steps in and replaces older technology, just about every year, or more often in some cases. There was a time when a DVD player cost way over $300 for a very basic model. Nowadays, with a great sale, you can get one for $30, and they generally have more features than the original ones possessed. In light of this, can you imagine how cheap a surround sound system will be able to be bought in just a few years?

Already, there have been tremendous drops in the prices of boxed sets you can buy today. No more do you have to worry about them being systems that are a brand you have never heard of, trying to make sales, through giving a low price, and poor quality. Now, the boxed surround sound systems have well known brand names, and the competition is very fierce to the ones that do not offer box sets at an affordable price.
